摘要
目前学术界对太原多福寺壁画艺术风格的研究尚未定论。学者柴泽俊先生曾撰文指出,多福寺大雄宝殿壁画是以明间为中轴线,东西两壁壁画是由两组画师竞争献艺共同完成。为进一步研究和界定多福寺壁画绘画及其风格倾向提供了借鉴和研究思路,然此观点仅为直观推论,尚缺乏实证。现以此观点为研究出发点,依据文献记载,从壁画现状、结构布局、题材内容、绘画风格、粉本和图像特征角度进行详实论证,证明东西两壁壁画确有差异,应是两组画师共同完成的,且西壁画师更技高一筹。
There is no one acceptalbe conclusion on the artistic style of Taiyuan Duofu Temple murals in recent academic fields. Chai ze-jun has ever pointed out in his article that murals of the Great Buddha's Hall are based on central bay and murals on the east wall as well as the west wall are completed by the cooperation of two teams of painters, which provides reference and research ideas for further study and definition. However, this statement is only intuitive reasoning, yet lacks practical demonstration. Based on this statement, the paper illustrates the statement from the following aspects: the extant documentary data, the structure, style, contents, duplication of the mural painting and features of image in the mural paintings. It is safe to say that there is a disparity between them which are completed by two different group of painters. The quality of the mural painting on the west wall is higher than that on the east wall.
