华裔作家作品中的异国异族形象(或称"他者"形象)一直备受学界关注。新加坡作家尤今的作品中有大量的异族形象,透视这些形象可以看出,华裔作家历经时代变迁与环境变换,早已在其所在国的文化土壤上生根﹑成长和发展。她所代表的立场早已不是传统意义上的"故国之思",更多的是受到其居住地的文化影响。但是作品的中华印记却随处可见,如对传统道德﹑人伦亲情的呼唤与赞美,文字间充满温馨爱意与浓郁诗情。

The exotic images （ or“other” image） in overseas chinese writers＇work has been studied especially. There are many exotic images in youjin＇s works. From these images can be seen that the chinese writers,experienced time and environment changes, already sprouted,grew and developed on the culture soil of their residence. Youjin＇s position is already not traditional thought of the “old country”, but follows the culture and atmosphere in her country of residence.
