高职英语教学的困境与出路

Predicament in English Teaching in Higher Vocational Institutions and Countermeasures

摘要 我国高职院校英语教学不仅存在普通高校所面临的种种弊端,且因学时限制、生源结构和教师特点等原因教学效果更不理想。普通高校的大学英语教学改革思路和本土"洋大学"的成功范例给高职英语教学带来了启发,指明了改革的方向:(1)重视需求分析,合理定位,突出职业英语教学;(2)考虑个体差异,优化教学要素;(3)重视英语学习策略的培养和自主学习能力的提高;(4)合理利用社会考试发挥考试的正面反拨作用。 English teaching in higher vocational institutions are confronted with the same problems that perplex the undergraduate colleges and universities, and in a worse situation, due to the factors of shorter schooling time, the make-up of both the students and the English teachers. The English teaching reform initiated in the undergraduate colleges and universities and the effective outcome of English teaching in the foreign universities and colleges located in China offered an inspiration for the reform of English teaching in higher vocational institutions: (1) Prominence be attached to the teaching of English for Occupational Purpose based on the demand analysis and a rational positioning; (2) Individual difference be taken into consideration in the optimization of teaching and learning essentials; (3)English learning strategies be cultivated to enhance autonomous learning ability; and (4) the application of various social exanls language tests for the positive wash-back of exams.
