Research on the Effects of Nuclear Energy Consumption for China's Carbon Dioxide Emissions Mitigation——Based on the Comparison between China and France

摘要 采用格兰杰因果检验方法,研究中国和法国的核能消费与CO2排放间的长期均衡关系。结果表明,中国和法国均存在由核能消费到碳排放的单向格兰杰因果关系。发现,中国的核能消费与碳排放呈正相关关系,而法国的核能与碳排放的关系则为负相关。但引入虚拟变量后我们发现,法国经历了由正相关转为负相关的过程。中国应积极开发核能资源,尽快发挥核能对CO2的减排作用。 This paper examines the long - term equilibrium relationship between nuclear energy consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of China and France by using Granger causality test. The unidirectional causality running from nuclear energy consumption to CO2 emissions is found from the casualty tests of both China and France. Further study shows that China's nuclear power consumption and CO2 emissions are positively correlated, and France' s are negatively correlated. After the introduction of dummy variables, we found that France experienced a process from positive correlation into negative correlation. This paper argues that China should actively develop nuclear energy resources in order for nuclear energy to mitigate CO2 emissions.
