摘要
形象学是以研究文学作品中的异国形象为主要内容的一门学科。这里的异国形象并不是现实的复呈,而是形象塑造者根据自己的理解和欲求创造出来的。在形象学的框架中,很多中国古典名著都可以看做是对中国形象的一种呈现。《论语》作为儒家学说的代表,收录了大量关于为人处世的哲学道理,反映出典型的中国形象。《论语》不但在中国有着重要影响,在世界范围内也产生了不可忽视的影响。目前在西方,《论语》被翻译成多种语言,不同译者在翻译的同时也对中国形象进行传播。在翻译过程中,由于文化语境的落差和译者决策的不同,译者对中国形象的创造会因为个人主观感情的渗入而产生偏差。
As a discipline, Imagology mainly focuses on the exotic image in literary works. The exotic image isn't the real representation of reality, but it is created by the shaper according to their own understandings and desires. In the framework of Imagology, many classics in China is a presentation of the Chinese image. As the representative of Confucianism, The AnaIects of Confucius which collects a lot of philo-sophieal thinkings about the rules of conduct, reflects the typical Chinese images. The Analects of Confucius has great influence on the social life both at home and abroad. Now, in the western countries, TheAnalects of Confucius has been repeatedly translated into different languages, and translators also try to spread the Chinese image while they are translating these works. Because the different cultural contextsand different translation decisions, the translators would pay more attention to their own culture and understanding, and they inevitably will produce deviation due to the emotional penetration.
