摘要
易读性作为测试文章难易程度的工具,在帮助教师选择和评价英语教材上发挥着重要的作用。文章运用了易读性中常用计算式、计算步骤和参考量表,对人教版高中英语教材(NSEFC)阅读文本进行易读性调查并对学生进行了访谈,试图了解高中英语教材的整体现状。研究发现,人教版高中英语教材易读性的总体控制方面把握得不错,但在教材里每个单元阅读难易度排序上还需完善,同时还发现阅读的难易度和有趣程度不一定成正相关。研究还表明,易读性不但可以帮助教师优化教学,辅助教材编写者评价教材,还可以促进学生形成个性化学习方式,将在外语教学中发挥着重要的作用。
Readability, as an important tool for testing reading materials" complexity, plays an important role in helping teachers evaluate and choose the most appropriate teaching materials. To as- sess the readability and its practical value in high school English teaching materials by using generally- used readability equations, calculation means and the reference scale as well as interviews with students in a senior high school, this study gives an analysis of Neze Senior English for China (NSEFC)edited by People's Education Press(PEP). The study concludes that the readability of the English teaching materials is well controlled on the whole, but the arrangement of difficulty level in different units still needs improvement. The study also reveals that its difficulty level and interest are not positively correlated. The study also shows that readability not only can help teachers improve their teaching process, and help the compilers evaluate their work, but also can promote the individualized learning in other words, it will play an important role in foreign language teaching.
