香港文化研究有着浓重的本土意识。在香港特定的政治、经济、文化发展中,香港人逐步形成了自己特有的本土意识、身份意识。但香港的本土意识并不是一个有着固定内涵的统一的概念,而是有着不同的所指,是一个不断建构的过程。香港文化研究的本土意识特突出地表现在其对教育教学的重视,如香港岭南大学的文化研究系。香港文化研究的本土化探索,对大陆文化研究具有重要的借鉴意义和价值。

Cultural studies in Hong Kong has a strong local-consciousness. With the development of specific politics, economy, culture of HK, the people of HK gradually formed its own unique local consciousness, sense of identity.
