COPPER SMELTING ARTEFACTS FROM THE DAJING SITE (ca 10 BC) IN LINXI COUNTY OF INNER MONGOLIA

摘要 本文研究了我国年代较早的大井古矿冶遗址的冶炼技术,表明在3000年前我国已使用硫化铜矿、含砷铜矿及铜锡共生矿,经焙烧后直接还原,熔炼成为Cu-Sn-As合金,为我国及世界早期冶铜技术的研究提供了重要资料。 Artefacts from the site of an ancient copper mine dating back to about 10 BC at Dajing, Linxi, Inner Mongolia, including fragements of sulphids ore, slag and furnace wall have been examined. The results show that chalcopyrite containing cassiterite and arsenopyrite had been used in copper smelting. Compositions of the slag indicate that the temperature might have reached as high as 1200℃. Pieces of slag were attached to furnace wall. The slag contains an average of about 2.95% Cu, most of which occurs as small globules of Cu-Sn-As alloys. Some of them also contain exceptionally high contents of silver, antimony or bismuth.
