Business Intelligence: A New Generation of Decision Support Field

1.引言 商务智能(Business Intelligence,BI)是目前在国外企业界和软件开发界受到广泛关注的一个研究方向,它把先进的信息技术应用到整个企业,不仅为其提供信息获取能力,而且通过对信息的开发,将其转变为企业的竞争优势[1].因此,越来越多的企业提出他们对BI的需求,把BI作为一种帮助企业达到经营目标的一种有效手段;另一方面,计算机界很多著名公司已经认识到BI巨大的发展潜力,纷纷加入到从事BI研究和软件开发的行列,比如:IBM建立了专门从事BI方案设计的研究中心,Oracle、Microsoft等著名的软件厂商纷纷推出支持BI开发与应用的软件系统.可以看出,BI无论对于企业界还是对于计算机界,都是一个非常具有吸引力的方向.

As an effective method to improve overall enterprise performance,business intelligence is being paid more and more attention by enterprises and software vendors. In this paper,in order to give a comprehensive description of business intelligence to readers,each aspect of business intelligence is introduced by compared with traditional decision support system. At the same time,aiming at current developing situation of business intelligence in China,several proposals are put forward.
