A solar year of Yi nationality calender has ten months, and each month has 36 days. The total number of days in a year is scheduled to be 360 days sharp, and the remaining 5 or 6 days is spared for Guonian,a yi festival similar to spring festival. The four seasons are determined according to the solar motions, and winter and summer are felt through changes in the Dipper's pointed direction. The equal number of days in each month which facilitates remembering and the accuracy of season division indicate that the yi calender is better than the current calender we now use.The months and seasons of the ten-month calender are named Cixiong based on Yingyang viewpoint, which is closely related to Yingyang, Wuxing, Fuxibagua practised in ancient China. This not only reflects the cryatalized wisdom of our distant predecessors, but also presents an excellent example of ancient cultures in the world civilization history. The present recognization of and research on the tenmonth calender can trace the civilization history of China back over ten thousand years earlier.
