Mouse genetics is setto play a pivotal role in the key post-genome challenge, specially in the study of human gene function.The normal mouse are mutated with the methods of gene engineering( such as transgenic,knock-out and knock-in) ,to promul- gate the human gene function.Butthe expanding mouse mutantresource thatwill result threatens to overwhelm the currently available animal facility space.As more and more genes are sequenced and cloned,the numberof new knock-out,knock-in and transgenic mice will undoubtedly increase.
