英语教学应重视中西文化差异

Difference Between the Western and Chinese Culture

文化差异往往会给异国语言学习及国际交往带来诸多不便 ,因而 ,作为异国语言学习者 ,了解目的语与母语之间的文化背景差异极有必要。本文以此为前提 ,从宗教、文学及民族社会发展史等角度简要分析了西方、尤其是英语文化背景特征 ,以及这种不同的文化背景给中西国际交往带来的障碍 。

Cultural difference may bring a foreigh-language learner many difficulties, so it’s necessary for the learner to get a general understanding of the cultural difference between the aim-language and the parent language. With the above-mentioned point as the prerequisite and from the angles of religion, literature, the racial and social history, the article analyses briefly the feature of the western, especially, the English cultural background, and the barriers it may bring to international communications, and thus the article attaches great importance to guiding students to understand the cultural difference and to overcome the barriers.
