中国西部科学院

ACADEMIA SINICA OF WESTERN CHINA

中国西部科学院是我国著名爱国实业家卢作孚创办的一个地方科研机构。它与民国时期其他科研机构遥相呼应,以立足四川、开发西部为己任,对中国现代科学事业的发展做出了应有的贡献。本文通过搜集和整理大量史料,比较全面而系统地回顾了西部科学院建立和发展的历程,介绍了它在科学研究、学术交流、创办企业等方面的业绩,探讨了西部科学院作为民国时期重要科研机构之一,它的组织和管理活动的特点。

Academia Sinica of Western China(ASWC),a local institution ofscientific research during the rule of the Kuomintang before liberation,wasfounded by the famous patriotic entrepreneur Lu Zuofu.With its footholdin Sichuan province,it aimed at developing Western China and made its duecontribution to the advancement of modern science and technology in China.On the basis of collecting and analysing a large amount of historical docu-ments,this article comprehensively and systematically reviews the establish-ment and development of ASWC,describes its achievements in scientificresearch,academic exchange and setting up enterprises,and discusses theorganizational and managerial characteristics of ASWC as one of the majorresearch institutions at its time.
