摘要
本文探讨了以往人们不大注意的谭嗣同与数学方面的问题。经过历史资许的分析,本文认为,他通过创办浏阳算学社,拉开了整个湖南维新变法的序幕;他从维新角度对数学神秘主义的批判,在中国数学史研究上具有一定意义。本文还剖析了代表其哲学、政治思想的《仁学》一书中所贯穿的数学思想和数学精神。
Through investigating relevant historical documents,this paper re-views the relationship between Tan Sitong's thought and mathematicshitherto almost unnoticed.It holds that Tan not only initiated the Consti-tutional Reform and Modernization of Hunan by founding the LiuyangMathematical Society,but also criticized mathematical mysticism in thelight of modernization,which is a significant action in the study of thehistory of Chinese mathematics.It also analyses his mathematicalthinking that runs through his Ren Xue(On Benevolence),a famouswork embodying his ideas on philosophy and politics.
