摘要
赫崇本是我国现代著名的物理海洋学家、海洋教育家、中国海洋科学的奠基人之一。他开创了中国"水团"研究,特别是对中国黄海冷水团的系统研究;他领导并参与了1958—1960年间进行的全国海洋综合调查,积累了中国海洋研究的丰富资料,总结了关于浅海的海洋调查方法;他致力于我国物理海洋科学和海洋教育事业,培养了一批物理海洋科学研究的出色人才,为我国海洋科学的发展做出了突出贡献。
Prof.He Chongben,a famous physical marine scientist and educationistas well as one of the founders of marine science in China,started China'swater mass research,especially the systematic research of cold water massin the Huanghai Sea.He also conducted a comprehensive study of the meth-odology of marine survey at shallow sea areas,and led and participated inthe General Oceanographic Survey Program of the Bohai Sea,the HuanghaiSea,the Donghai Sea and the Nanhai Sea during 1958-1960.The informationcollected in this program provides an extensive basis for Chinese marineresearch.As an educationist,he developed the marine education system inChina and had instructed several generations of students.This paper gives adetailed account of his outstanding contribution to Chinese marine science.
