北平研究院动物学研究所小史

A HISTORICAL SKETCH OF THE INSTITUTE OF ZOOLOGY,NATIONAL ACADEMY OF PEIPING

北平研究院动物学研究所建立于1929年,直到1937年主要作海洋动物的调查研究。抗日战争爆发后,迁往昆明,主要从事云南省各湖泊动物的研究。抗战胜利后,复员回到北平,除整理过去的资料外,并开展昆虫学研究。有两种出版物,外文者出至第5卷,中文者出了23号。

This paper deals with the history of the Institute of Zoology,NationalAcademy of Peiping.The Institute was founded in 1929,and until 1937 itschief work had been to research on marine animals.Due to the outbreakof the War of Resistance Against Japan,it was moved to Kunming and thefreshwater animals of Yunnan province became its main objects for study.After the victory of the war,the Institute was demobilized and moved backto Peiping in 1946.Apart from sorting out the materials collected in Yunnanprovince,it started to work on entomology.There were two publicationssponsored by the Institute,one in foreign languages with an issue up tofive volumes,the other in Chinese with a total of twenty-three numbersbeing put out.
