摘要
中法两国间的文化交流由来已久,而从法国方面,在明、清两朝,则主要是由法国在华传教士推动的。本文对法国传教士在华的科技活动和影响作了简要介绍和评论。作者认为,向华派遣传教士是法国政府推行海外殖民政策的一部分,但教士们在华的科枝工作,对加速中国封建杜会的解体,对促进中西文化交流是有益的.对此应予肯定。
The cultural exchange between China and France is of long standing,and during the Ming and Qing Dynasties,it was pushed forward mainly byFrench missionaries in China.Describing in brief the scientific and techn-ological activities carried on by French missionaries in China,this articleholds that sending missionaries to China had been a part of the overseascolonial policy pursued by the French government,but the work done bythe missionaries in science and technology had the positive effect of accel-erating the disintegration of the Chinese feudal society and promoting thecultural exchange between China and the West.
