The windings construction,connection method and shifts taps varies speed method for the single phase variable-pole multi-speed asynchronous machine are described.A tradeoff between the performance of the 4-pole and 6-pole is obtained by comparing their emf star graphs.The test results for a rewound prototype give evidence of the correctness of the connection and analysis method for variable-pole multi-speed winding set presented by this paper.
