This paper introduces two different kinds of the luminance enhancemant backlighting units for LCDs,and describes the operating principles of the backlighting optics.One is the unpolarized light luminance emhancement backlighting unit,the other is the polarized light luminance enhancement backlighting unit.They improve LCD performance externally to LCD rather than internally.
