There are many glacial landforms in alpine areas above 3100 m a. s. 1. in the Gongwang Mountains in northeast Yunnan Province China. The glacial landforms are mainly cirque, glacial rock basin and lateral moraine. According to forming sequence and scattered feature of these glacial land forme, Quaternary glaciation in the Gongwang Mountains, should be separated into two periods: (1)last glaciation (containing two stages of late glaciation and maximum glaciation); (2) penultimate glaciation .
