There are two schemes for MPEG 2 TS's AAL5 encapsulation: PCR aware and PCR unaware. The transfer function of standard MPEG 2 decoder' PLL is derived. Then the effect of packetization jitter on receiver timing recovery due to PCR unaware scheme is analyzed. Finally, the methods for solving this problem is proposed.
