The paper introduces some cautions for correct use of catalytic converter, i.e., correct use of lubrication oil, use of superior nonleaded gasoline, keep of better automotive working status, normal working condition of electronic control system of engine, installation of over heat alarm and etc. In addition, describes the trouble diagnosis of catalytic converter by using the comparing method of double waste gases, the comparing method of cold and heat idle speed, the temperature differential method in idle speed, the vacuum measuring method and etc.
