Industry of Yunnan during WWII, promoted by various factors, had enjoyed an unprecedented development. The province then had an industrial system which was complete in range. Its capital and technology intensity even ranked above the industries of other provinces in the rear. Evaluation of the industrial developmental scale of Yunnan during WWII and research of the archives concerning the situation at that time will shed much light on the industrial development of the province in 1940’s.
