Discussed in this paper are the successful and unsuccessful experiences of rotor dynamic balancing during the capacity upgrading-oriented modification of a centrifugal compressor. An analysis was performed of the specific features of low-speed and high-speed balancing. Several rules and laws have been identified, which govern the rotor dynamic balancing in the course of capacity upgrading-oriented modification of centrifugal compressors.
