The application criteria and field of using airborne geophysical survey and remote sensing technology in environmental assessment are introduced in this paper. Some application examples at home and abroad are listed. The application results fully show that the above techniques are one of the most important approaches for narrow-down target area at the preliminary stage of environmental assessment, and are characterized by fast operation and low cost. So, they are extensively applied in verious countries.
