the paper is an example of sapphire-corundum that is a world famous area-Houei Xai, LAO P. D. R. Its characteristics and quality analysis of Houei Xai sapphire resources are discussed from the aspects of the needs of the gemstones resources and the development of geological economy. At the same time, the paper has outlined the charasteristics of gemmology and comprehensive evaluation on Houei Xai Sapphire-corundum resources.
