浅议汉语新词新义的英译

On the Translation of New Chinese Words and Expressions

改革开放以来，新事物、新概念层出不穷，大量反 映这些新事物、新概念的新词也随之产生。本文通过对具体译 例的分析，提出汉语新词的英译主要可以采用直译、直译加 注、意译和归化四种方法。

Since China's reform and opening up to the outside world in 1979, many new words and expressions representing the new concepts and new things have emerged one after another.This paper puts forward the techniques in translating these new words by some concrete examples.These techniques include:(1)literal t ranslation.(2)literal translation plus annotation.(3)free translation.(4)adaptat ion.
