Reason of the Decline of Ancient Chinese Mathematics and Some Enlightenment

中国古代数学曾一度辉煌，但在明朝之后，却走向了衰落，通过对比中西数学的不同特点和分析中国古代社会文化的特征，找出中国古代数学衰落的真正原因在于：中国古代传统的数学本身存在缺陷，中国的文字不利于数学的发展以及中国古代的社会风气等，这是值得我们深思的．

The ancient Chinese mathematics had once a brilliant past before Ming Dynasty, but after that it went to decline. In this paper, the authors try to investigate the real reason of this decline and find some enlightenment from it through contrasting the feature of the ancient Chinese mathematics with the one of western mathematics and analyzing the characteristic of the social and culture of the ancient China.
