任何爱国的思想和运动都有其天然的合 理性，但“爱国”一词有相当复杂的内涵和外延。爱国的根本目的不是渲泄爱国的 情绪，而是维护国家的领土和主权、文化传统和经济利益，反对一切与之相反的因素。

Every patriotic thought and action has natural rea son. Nevertheless, the word“patriot” has rather complex intension and extensio n. The basic purpose of patriot is not to unbosom the patriotic emotions, but to defend the sovereignty of nation and land, to preserve the cultural tradition , to safeguard the economic profit, against any factors imcompatible with them.
