Aim:To explore the role of expression of CyclinD 1 and p16 in the progression of ovarian cancer. Methods: Immunohistochemical staining technique was used to examine the expression of CyclinD 1 and p16 in 40 cases of ovarian epithelial cancers, 12 cases of benign ovarian tumors and 10 cases of normal ovaries Both expressions were analyzed in terms of their relationships to clinical stages, differentiated grades, histological types, lymphatic node metastasis of the disease and the survival time of the patients.Results:①The higher expressions of CyclinD 1 were found in groups at poorly clinical stage, with lymphatic node metastasis and short survival time than that of groups in well clinical stage, non lymphatic node metastasis and long survival time ( P <0 05);It was higher in group of low differentiated grade than that of high differentiated grade. The expression was apparently different while grade Ⅲ was compared with grade Ⅱ or grade Ⅰ( P <0 05).②The majority at well clinical stage orhigh differentiated grade,or with non lymphatic node metastasis and long survival time were positive for p16 while it was negative in most of the poorly clinical stage, low differentiated grade, lymphatic node metastasis and short survival time ( P <0 05).③)There was negative correlation between the expression of p16 and the expression of CyclinD 1.Conclusion: The low expression of p16 and the high expression of CyclinD 1 are closely correlated to the clinicopathological parameters of ovarian cancer and have synergism effect in progression of ovaian epithelial cancer
