摘要
本文以介绍2000年3月在意大利举办的“另类现代”的传统与古典建筑城市设计研讨会为基础，简要地介绍了近几十年在西方建筑界的新古典主义的概念。它的主要倡导人及活动家的思想和言论，新古典主义建筑师和城市设计师的近期作品及教育界一些不同于国际化的现代主义和各种新潮时尚主义的“另类”的现代观念。
In March 2000, an international conference 'THE OTHER MODERN' that focused on the traditional and classical architectural and urban design took place in Italy. By briefly introducing this event, this article brings in the concept of the New Classicism that has been carried on by a number of contemporary architects, urban designers for several decades. It introduces the general theories of the New Classicism, the practices by the well-known New Classicists,and how the 'the other modern' concept has been employed into the architectural and urban design education.
