This paper points out four main problems that exist in the teaching methods at Guangzhou Normal University and expounds the importance and the necessity to reform teaching methods and means. According to the modern theory of teaching and learning, the authors put forward five basic principles and six measures for the reform of teaching methods and means, especially specific programmes and suggestions for speeding up the construction of hardware and software for modern educational technology.
