摘要
本文首先阐述了城域网的基本内涵和特征以及所面临的挑战 ,然后分析了城域网的主要问题以及对下一代城域网的基本要求。接下来 ,重点介绍了城域网的四大技术解决方案(以SDH为基础的多业务平台 ,基于层2交换和层3选路的方案 ,以WDM为基础的多业务平台 ,以ATM为基础的多业务平台)的特点与适用范围。
First, the paper presents basic definitions and implications, characteristics and faced challenges for metropolitan area networks (MAN). Then, the paper analyses major issues and basic requirements for next generation MAN. Furthermore, emphases will be put on characteristics and applications of major four technology solutions such as SDH based multiservices platform, layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing based multiservices platform, WDM based multiservices platform and ATM based multiservices platform.
