This paper detailedly introduces the design, construction and performance of the soil-texture filter layer used in Jishanhu sandy bank. It is shown by its actual performance that the soil-texture filter layer has a high filterabilily, it's investment is small and it is easily constructed. It is pointed out in this paper that the soil-texture filter layer obviously has an advantage over a traditional sandy filter layer.
