THE ECONOMIC FUNCTION OF THE GOVERNMENT IN THE MARKET ECONOMY

市场经济依靠其内在机制而运作，但市场机制并不能解决市场经济中的许多问题，例如市场竞争的不完全性，社会公共财货不能依赖自由市场提供，市场价格不能反映外部成本与外部利益，生产活动引起生态破坏，不良消费行为影响社会安全和国民健康，经济波动激烈，两极分化扩大，不法交易，等等。这就需要政府对市场经济进行适当干预，以克服市场机制的缺陷。

The market economy runs depending upon its inner mechanism,however,themarket mechanism can not resolove many problems,such as the competions are not complete insome aspects,the public goods for the society can not reflect the outer costs and the outer interests,the production activities cause destruction in ecosystem,bad consumption actionsinfluence social safety and people’s health,the economy fluctuates frequently,tow end division enlarges,many trades are illegal,etc. Hence,it is necessary for the government tointerfere and adjust the market economy properly so as to overcome its shortcomings.
