The year 2000 saw a smooth increase in the output of China's main household electrical appliances, even a fast increase of air-conditioner, microwave oven and vacuum cleaner production, and a steady increase in the production of traditional household electrical appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, freezers, kitchen ventilators, electrical fans and electrical cookers. The total export and import of China's household electrical appliances in 2000 reached US$7.05 billion, of which the export accounts for US$5.623 billion, 33.20% higher than that in 1999, being a fastest increase in recent years.
