The effects of different alkali activator and red mud on the strength of alkali activated slag cement were studied. The optimum activator is Na 2SiO 3 CaSO 4·2H 2O and the optimum addition in AASC is 3% and 5%. The mechanism of the activator was simply discussed. The properties of the free firing brick and light wall material based on red mud AASC were also studied in this paper.
