This paper records the morphological characters and chromoso-mal studies result of a species of wild large fruit fly.Morphological observa-tions indicated that the wild fruit fly differs from Drosophila melanogaster inmany morphological characters,such as the individual is bigger,the positionof sex combs is different etc.Chromosomal studies result indicated that thesalivary gland chromosomes are much bigger than D.melanogaster,there aresix long arms and one short arm.The karyotype ise that 2n is qual to 12,4R+1V+1D.
