A new spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace chromium (VI ) is described. It is based on the discoloring of orange G oxidized by chromium(VI )in sulfuric acid medium under room temperatrue. The reaction mechanism is also discussed. The liner range is 0-3 mg/L. The detection licit is. 0. 04mg/L.
