Progress and Prospects in Studies on Solar Flares

In this article, we give a brief review of the recent progress made in the researches of solar flares, including space and ground-based Observations, studies on the flare spectrum, dynamical modeling, and MHD simulation of magnetic reconnection. Prospects for the future study are also described.
