提出使用 VRML技术在网络上传送手语动画，提供了一套从建立模型到网 络实现的方法，该方法不但能有效压缩网络传输量，而且具有交互能力 .已在实验室的局域 网上实现了《中国手语》的一个子集的传送，证明该方法是可行的、而且是有效的 .

This paper proposes using the technology of VRML to transport sign language animation information on the network, and the writer has provided a set of methods including both the establishment of the model and the reality on net work, which has be proved to be effective. The method is of much helpful not onl y to compress the traffic volume on the network but also to enhance the capabili ty of mutual operation.
