Traffic analysis of an optical fiber-based LAN with a star topology

主要分析了星型光纤局域网的业务特性 ;考虑了光纤局域网的快速交换特点 ;利用排队论的M/G/1模型 ,对节点用户消息的输入队列模型进行了描述 .通过数学分析 ,得到了网络性能参数 -输入队列的利用率 (或称业务量强度 )和消息平均时延的表达式 .并对输入消息长度为指数分布时的这两个性能参数进行了数值分析 ,此种数学分析方法的结果已被证明是有效的 .

The traffic of an optical fiber based LAN (local area network) with a star topology was analysed. The fast switching technique was considered in LAN. The source queue was modeled as a M/G/1 queue, and the equations of performance parameters including the utilization factor (or traffic intensity) of the source queue and message mean delay were obtained by mathematical analysis. The numerical analysis of these parameters was also given with respect to the message length with exponential distribution.
