Computer simulation is one of the efficient analysis tools to study the technology of communication networks. In this paper, a general-purpose communication networks simulation system (GPCNSS) and its several key techniques are introduced in detail, based on existing networks simulation technology. By GPCNSS, users are able to model various aspects of the communication networks to predict or evaluate the performances of the communication networks according to their own requirements.
