妇女就业是以从事女性职业为特征，女性职业与妇女就业是相依相伴的。女性职业曾对妇女就业起过较大的推动作用，但女性职业也使妇女在生产过程中边际化和次要化，使妇女成为了辅助劳动力和廉价劳动力。妇女被局限于女性职业的因素是错综复杂的，主要可以从社会、文化、经济和生产力等角度加以分析。随着知识生产力时代的到来，妇女就业出现了越来越多的妇女突破女性职业范围，闯入昔日男子传统领域的新趋势。
