印尼华人新闻业的现状与前景

On the Current Situation and Future of Indonesian Chinese Press

苏哈托统治印尼期间 ,印尼所有华人报刊被取缔。哈比比政府接管政权后 ,采取开放舆论政策 ,华人先后出版了报刊。至瓦希德政府执政 ,新闻业出现了发展势头。当前 ,华人报刊经费紧张 ,华文编辑和记者紧缺 ,读者和广告少成为制约它们发展的障碍。尽管印尼的改革还存在暗流 ,但民主和进步不可逆转。我们对印尼华人新闻业前景持审慎乐观态度。

During the rule of Suharto, all newspapers and magazines run by Chinese were banned. After coming into power, Habibie adopted the policy of opening to public opinions. Chinese-run newspapers and magazines came out one after another. Since Wahid assumed power, there has been a developing tendency of the press. At present, a shortage of funds, Chinese editors and reporters, readers and advertisements, has become factors that restrict the developement of Chinese newspapers and magazines. Although there is an undercurrent in the reforms in Indonesia, the trends of democracy and progress cannot be reversed. We hold a cautious and optimistic attitude toward the future of Chinese press.
