在以经济建设为中心的现代化进程中 ,道德究竟占有什么地位 ?对经济建设究竟产生什么作用 ?应该认识到 :道德既是现代化经济建设的辅佐力量 ,也是社会主义现代化建设所追求的基本要素之一。因此 ,一方面我们不能对道德的期望值过高 ,道德作为现代化建设的辅佐力量 ,与经济建设相比充当的只能是配角。另一方面我们千万不能轻视、甚至无视道德在经济建设中不可或缺的地位及其对生产力的促进作用。
