It briefly describes the characteristics of the virtual reality system and the hardware and software required. Based on the examples of car experimental simulation, it points out the general process of developing virtual reality system and introduces the World ToolKit, virtual scene and the cross - control between man and environment. Its application perspective in the automotive engineering is also predicted.
