Navigation Management at the River Reach near Gezhouba after Water Filling of the Three－Gorges Reservoir

水库蓄水后，下泄清水对下游河床产生长距离冲刷，同流量条件下水位降低。三峡水库蓄水后河床下切变形对航运构成影响，尤以近坝段为甚。应采取工程和管理措施，保障航运畅通。

After water filling, the discharge from the reservoir will produce long－distance scouring to the downstream river bed and water level will be lowered under the same flow conditions. The cutted deformation of river bed after water filling of the Three－Gorges reservoir will influence navigation, especially at the river reach near Gezhouba. Thus engineering and management measures shall be taken to ensure smooth navigation.
