The traditional western social and economic theories hold that there is a positive connection between the reformation of the pattern supporting the aged and the industrial development level. As a matter of fact,the question of providing for the aged is a social problem closely relating to the factors of economic,culture,politics and population.At present,the function of providing for the aged in household tends to weaken in China.It is the government that should do more in this field in order to make this most economy way of supporting the aged plays a greater role rising to the challenge of the aging of population.
