Weaknesses in Teaching English Writing at College Level and Its Solutions

:大学英语四 ,六级考试统计表明写作题得分率极低 ,错误类型有写作内容贫乏、中式英语多、语法错误多等。造成这种局面的因素是教师写作能力低 ,学生基本功差 ,不会运用写作技巧 ,写作教材缺少系统性。对此首先要提高教师教学水平 ,改变评改办法 ,端正写作动机 。

The statistics show that the low scores of the writing part stand out in the form of vague contents,Chinglish expression and grammatical errors in College English Test Band 4 and 6. Such weaknesses result from the poor writing level of instructors,insufficient training of students in their writing skills, and absence of the systematically compiled textbooks of writing. The solutions to such problems require the improvement of instructors and their assessment of students'writings,and use of the texbooks that are more systematic.
